THE CHRISTIAN COWAN NYFW SHOW

Inspiration/Direction:

“What’s old is new again,” said Lori Taylor Davis, Smashbox Global Pro Lead Artist. “And what’s dull is gone. We’re transmuting a genuine glow from within – quite literally, with longwearing performance and skin-first ingredients stealing the show. We’re still cocktailing, layering and creating art – it just feels more authentic. You can’t see where the skin ends and the makeup begins.”

"At Cowan, we’re seeking to elevate house codes and our exuberant way of showing off the women we dress, while simplifying our fabric groupings & silhouettes,"
said Christian Cowan. "This especially translates to our beauty this season. We've replaced bold eyes with fresh dewy skin and highlighted accents to bring an ultra-fresh glow to each model. I told them all that I wanted them to look and feel fresher than they ever have before."

Step-by-step:

Prep skin by mixing the Silkscreen Primerizer+ and Silkscreen Illuminate Primer for a silky, ultra-nourishing and glowy finish. Then go in with the Original Photo Finish Primer to smooth and blur pores. Maximize your glow (and hydration levels) with Halo Plumping Dew Illuminating Moisturizer + Hyaluronic Acid, finishing your base with Halo Healthy Glow All-In-One Tinted Moisturizer for buildable coverage, SPF 25, and 81% skin-loving ingredients.

For cheeks, create a soft, natural flush with the Halo Cream Cheek + Lip Tint. Gently enhance contours with the Cali Contour Palette, blending throughout apples of the cheek, around the orbital bone, under the brow, and into the hairline and scalp.

For eyes, start with Smashbox x Becca Under Eye Brightening Corrector followed by the soon-to-launch Halo Healthy Glow Concealer, keeping the look simple and fresh. Add a wash of color for eyeshadow, sculpting out the crease and highlighting the inner corner. Tightline only the upper lash line, using a dark brown for lighter skin tones or black for medium skin tones. Apply Super Fan Mascara  to top lashes, focusing on the base of the lash line and pressing in to create volume. For the bottom lash line, apply lightly and brush out.

Complete the look with a healthy, flesh tone lip (skipping hues especially pink or nude) using the Be Legendary Line + Prime Lip Pencil.
